Luis Gutierrez was born in El Salvador and grew up in the suburbs of Silver Spring, Maryland. He now lives in Asheville, North Carolina where he works as Gym Director for Blue Ridge Cheer Company. His love for cheerleading started as a competitor in High School and All-Star cheerleading in 2008. He also started Dance training in 2009. Luis’ hard work and dedication paid off when he became a member of his high school dance company and an assistant coach at his all-star cheer gym. Nevertheless, Luis didn’t stop there, after he graduated from high school he became a member of the Montgomery College Dance Company. During this time he studied and trained in different styles of dance, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary. This is where Luis first started experimenting with his creativity and passion for choreography.

Luis has been a coach for the past 9 years and has been a part of the cheer community for 14 years. At 19, Luis became the Cheer Director, Choreographer, and tumbling Coach for Fearless Athletics. His unique choreography style has won several specialty awards, and National titles like ACA, Spirit of Hope, US Finals, and earned bids to the D2 Summit Nationals.

Luis has an appreciation for structured and disciplined working environments that positively push and motivate athletes to be their best. His approach to choreography is sassy, bold and classy! He loves creating “aha” moments that highlight the individual, and team’s overall personality!
